Death by Jumping

So I have fish that have traveled the apartment... well, Qingdao too, but they are now in the entryway on two shelves. The top one is up to my chin, the bottom about chest high. Well, the other day I was over near there with my fuzzy socks on and felt something sticky. I look down and alas, there is a dead fish.

Now, some back story. When dividing the fish up, completely arbitrarily, I had one fish that like to spazz and jump. One day, this fish jumped out of the water and got stuck to the side of the glass vase I have them in. Luckily for him, I was there to push him back to life giving water. Another time, I was changing the water and this fish, lovingly named Houdini, jumped from the net onto the counter and completely missed the giant bowl of awaiting water. Again, there to save the day, but it took longer this time, a couple of minutes and I thought I was going to have to call in reinforcements to help find him.

So back to this weekend. He jumped, completely out of the water (which was down about an inch and a half from the top of the vase) and onto the floor where he suffered a air filled death. If it weren't so sad it would be super impressive; which technically it still is.

Alas, my feng shui is totally off now, one vase has 8 and now the other only has 7. hmph.
