We're reading the book Ox-Cart Man in second grade. About a man who takes everything his family made or grew all year long to town to sell. It happens in October, and though we are a week off, I'm still excited to share it with them. It happens in NH back, back in the day. A very good cultural lesson. Right now a gracious teacher is teaching it for me, it's been a bit of a rough week. well, month.
Amy is still sick, please, PLEASE yarp for her. She wants so badly to be back to normal, health and job. Until she's back to FULL health, she's at home & I'm at work with all of 2nd grade. I'm learning lots during this time. Sometimes the hard way, but still learning; none of it from a text book. He will never give me more than I can handle, and right now I feel like He's double checking my faith in that area. There have been so many people that have stepped up and provided a meal, helped cover the class, smiled and let me cry. It's been a big blessing! So many times I get caught up in the details and doing and moving, but yesterday alone I got two great reminders about stepping out of the chaos and getting the big picture.
In other news, basketball started yesterday. WOO! I'm the head coach, by the way. haha. Yes, you may laugh ;-) But it's good, I'm excited and organized and have AMAZING assistant coaches!! In slightly horrifying news, we have a tournament in TWO WEEKS! and most of my varsity high school ladies are in drama and won't be to practice until Monday, earliest. Yeah. Feel my pain! :-P But the Middle School team is shaping up to be AWESOME! they kicked butt in the skills drills that we did, we'll rock out the tournament!
Alrighty... back to teaching and living life with His strength. Always an adventure!
