So... never a dull moment. I went out with my class for recess. While we were watching the kids I notice that one of my darlings is by the fence. I walk over to see what she's up to; she's a loner, but I wanted to see how she was. Well, I get there and she's tugging on a sweater. A sweater that is on the other side of the fence. A fence that only has holes that are 1x1 inch or 1x3 inch. She's trying to get a sweater to the other side THROUGH a 1 square inch hole. Um yeah. So she looks up innocently and says, "Hi!" We work together to try to get it on our side. We work and work... now, this is a thick sweater, like winter coat thick. I go around to see if I can get it from the rational side, but no: no go, too tall. So we continue to work. "Team work is the best" she says with her toothless grin. Then she points out the bigger hole, "Maybe we could pull it through both!" Indeed, good idea. So now we are working to PUSH the sweater BACK THROUGH the hole so we can PULL it AGAIN through the BIGGER hole. Good times.
Now, by this time there is a small crowd gathering to see what we are playing so intently. A sweater, a thick sweater on the other side of the fence. A sweater that was left there the day before and somehow ended up on the bad end of it. And so, after 10 minutes or more, we have successfully pushed it back through, then pull it through the "bigger" hole. Alas, the sweater is rescued.
Yeah. That's my second grade greatness.
