In 2nd grade we are going to start the project of Flat Stanley. It's based on a fun book by Jeff Brown about Stanley Lambchop that got "flattened like a pancake" by a bulletin board. Since his parents couldn't afford to send him on a train or plane, they mailed him to visit friends. Ergo: we're sending out Flat Stanleys to visit other parts of the world. BUT, our Stanleys are meeting the 21st century, we're going high tech! Since mail is expensive and takes a long time we're EMAILING!!! So... if you would like to help us out and help my students experience other parts of the world... please let me know!!! ((email me at qmisflatstanley@gmail.com)) :-) We are hoping to start the project before our November break; that way if participants choose to mail special things back, we'll get them before the end of the year, and have time to e/mail lots of people! Check out www.qmisflatstanley.blogspot.com -or- www.flatstanleyaroundtheworld.blogspot.com (linked to my personal blog). These are personal to our 2nd grade. You can also check out the Flat Stanley Project website.
Other than that, all is well. Fall is coming full on. Leaves are changing, the air is crisp, big wind is on its way. Our students are wrapping up the first quarter. We did reader's theater this past week; the kids did great! They were so hysterical. I wish I would have taken pictures! They were hamming it up.
Um, got a coat made in preparation for big wind.
And... other stuff... Um... yeah, just really trying to keep up with all aspects of life. Some are better than others
:-)
